If you were raised in Minot, you probably have pleasant recollections of going to the Scandinavian Heritage Park. The five Scandinavian nations of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden can be explored in this outdoor museum. In 1988, the Scandinavian Heritage Association established the park. The park recognizes the contributions of Scandinavian immigrants who journeyed to this part of North Dakota in the late 1800s.

The Scandinavian Heritage Park should not be missed, regardless of whether you have lived in Minot for a long time or are just a visitor. Local Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, and Swedish societies convene on the second lower floor of the Scandinavian Heritage Center. There are volunteer opportunities as our guides for locals interested in helping the park.
